The Point of Unravel

The Point of Unravel is a series of mixed-media embroideries exploring the pregnant and birthing body and how it moves through the embodiment of trauma in novel and resilient ways. It combines text and visual art to examine the tensions between pathology, traumatic memory, and one's quest for self-determination in a medical setting. This work explores how in the realm of mental health, disclosure can impact the boundaries of personal choice and how naming one's experience, can be a radical but necessary act.
